Yep, you can survive on those basic bits of equipment. The pedal is really only for effects other than distortion.

yes, you can survive on that.
unless you wanna go pro and buy a pedal and stuff but thats if youve been playing for a while.
Just the amp, cable, and the guitar is fine, it’ll last you. Just dont get a really cheap guitar that has like crappy strings and stuff = )

you do not need pedals until you’ve been playing for a while. its a mistake to buy them right away because you dont know what sounds you really want until you’ve been playing for a bit.
you need a guitar, amp, cable, tuner, extra strings (get thinner strings for easier to play and thicker ones for more full sound and last longer) oh and a strap. enjoy!

You’ll only need pedals if your amp doesn’t have built-in effects, when you see electric guitar amps at a guitar shop usually they’ll have built-in effects, if it doesnt have built-in effects that’s when you’ll need to buy a pedal. Oh, you’ll also need an electric tuner guitar

starting out amp and cable and picks are all you need. You will probably find later on, you will want a pedal. You will find that you will need extra strings and a tuner. Sometimes they give that to you with the Guitar. It depends on the Guitar and shop you buy them. I would make sure you have lots of picks. Enjoy the guitar. You will find it is a great way to relieve stress.
