So I have a little knowledge from researching.

Is it best to buy a guitar online or at a shop?

Buy a starter pack or seperate parts?

What brand, guitar or pack?

Can I play with just the guitar and amp as a beginner?

Additional adivice welcomed

Start small and cheap. When you get better, reward yourself with better gear. I’d get an Epiphone to start out with and a Fender or Marshall amp. You’ll get great tones without breaking the bank. Buy them separately and test them out before you buy. Usually a guitar and amp is all you need unless there’s no distortion channel on the amp. At that point you may want to get a distortion pedal by Boss but that depends on your style of music. Again, this advice is for beginners. I’d recommend higher-end gear for an advanced player.
